SEAL Committee Announces Restructured Leadership and a Two-Group Voting Model

(January 19, 2026) The SEAL (Sealed Engine Alliance Leaders) Committee has unveiled the initial details of a restructuring aimed at strengthening governance, expanding technical oversight, and broadening representation across diverse racing series and venues. The initiative introduces new leadership, an expanded technical advisory team, and a two-group voting framework designed to guide policy and standards for the organization.

As part of the newly restructured SEAL Committee, Marty Melo will serve as the non-voting Committee Chair, providing leadership and direction for the committee moving forward. The committee will also consist of a non-voting Committee Administrator.

The committee’s technical advisory group, also non-voting, will consist of three advisors. Rick Davis and Freddie Query have been selected to fill two of those positions, bringing extensive technical knowledge and experience to the committee. A third technical advisor will be announced at a later date.

Under the new structure, the voting board members will be organized into two specialized groups, each consisting of five members. The Pro Late Model Engine Group will focus on matters related to Pro Late Model engines, while the Super Late Model Engine Group will concentrate on Super Late Model engine-related topics.

The voting board members will be selected from a diverse cross-section of racing series, tracks, and active promoters from across the country. This approach is designed to ensure broad geographic and organizational representation, strengthening the committee’s ability to make informed decisions and develop effective policies.

Upon his departure, the SEAL organization wishes to acknowledge Greg Wood for his years of service and significant contributions to SEAL and motorsports during his tenure. SEAL will use this change to reshape the committee’s structure and leadership. The SEAL community extends its sincere gratitude to Greg Wood for his years of dedication and impact.
