RUGGIERO AND BUTCHER HAVE EYES ON VICTORY LANE AT 5 FLAGS SPEEDWAY

(Pensacola, FL) ASA STARS National Tour regulars Cole Butcher and Gio Ruggiero have both filed entries for the Sunshine State 200 at 5 Flags Speedway March 24th. The Wilson Motorsports entries are both former ASA STARS National Tour winners and both proved to be strong contenders at the opening Clyde Hart Memorial back in February.

Cole Butcher

The driver of the Donnie Wilson Racing #28 car is looking to have another solid run at the 5 Flags Speedway during the Sunshine State 200. Butcher has been very consistent during the Snowball Derby as he has four top 5 finishes with two 3rd place finishes to go along with a fourth and fifth place finish. Last year’s running of the Sunshine State 200 would see Butcher finish in the 4th position. Consistency is key at the tricky half mile oval in Pensacola, FL and Butcher looks to finally put it in Victory Lane on Sunday March 24th.

Gio Ruggiero

The young Donnie Wilson Motorsports driver is coming off an impressive run at New Smyrna Speedway during the World Series of Asphalt. During the 5 nights of racing action for the Super Late Models Ruggiero picked up 2 wins, 2 3rd place finishes and a 5th place finish going up against the nation’s best Super Late Model competitors. Last season at 5 Flags Speedway Ruggiero picked up a 2nd place finish during the Kioti Tractor 100 and a 2nd place finish at the Snowball Derby.

The ASA STARS National Tour returns to action on Sunday afternoon, March 24 for the Sunshine State 200 at the legendary Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, FL. The event will be a “Spring Break Stock Car Double Header,” as the ASA STARS National Tour will be joined by the ARCA Menards Series East on Saturday, March 23. It’s all part of a three-day weekend of racing that begins on Friday, March 22 with the season opener for three local classes.
