Roderick Back on Top ASA Standings

Casey Roderick is once again back on top of the ASA STARS National Tour Point Standings after the first race of the 2024 season. The Mississippi native leaned on bonus points, stage points, and a solid third place run to take a one-point advantage over race winner Bubba Pollard.

This sets the stage for the return of ASA STARS National Tour to 5 Flags Speedway in Pensacola where they looked to have the cars to beat until contact between the two sent Pollard into the inside wall. One year ago Roderick went on to win the Inaugural ASA STARS National Tour race in his Anthony Campi Racing #26. This year, both look to have fast cars once again with Roderick winning Phoenix Water Solutions Stage 1 and Bubba Pollard ultimately winning the 25th Annual Clyde Hart Memorial and taking home the $15,000 race winner money.

Orange Blossom Winner, Brent Crews, sits third in the standings after finishing fourth while Clyde Hart Memorial runner up Jett Noland sits in fourth. Ty Majeski, who led a Clyde Hart Memorial race high 105 laps and picked up the Phoenix Water Solutions Stage 2 win, had mechanical issues late in the race and finished as the last car on the lead lap. Despite this, a strong points day means the Neenah, WI driver rounds out the top 5 in points, just 20 points back.

The 2024 points structure is as follows:
The driver who sets the fast time will earn 5 points, 2nd – 4, 3rd – 3, 4th – 2, 5th – 1

Each segment winner will receive 10 points and those points will go down by one point per position through 10th.

5 bonus points will be awarded for leading a lap and 5 bonus points will be awarded to the team that leads the most laps.

Up next for the ASA STARS National Tour will be the Sunshine State 200 at 5 Flags Speedway in Pensacola in a co-sanctioned race with the Southern Super Series. The Spring Break of asphalt racing triple-header kicks off on Friday, March 22 with 5 Flags Speedway local divisions in their season opener. ARCA Menards East series headlines Saturday night, March 23 with ASA STARS National Tour practice taking place during the day and on Sunday the STARS of the ASA STARS National tour will qualify and go for 200 laps in the 2nd race of the 2024 season.
