Hickory, NC (May 11, 2023) – Not only is the momentum building for the Tar Heel 250 ASA STARS National Tour event at Hickory Motor Speedway, but also for its supporting class on Thursday, May 25. The Limited Late Models have been a cornerstone of Hickory’s program.
The interest in the Limited Late Model race, which is part of Thursday Thunder in the Foothills, is certainly building in the Tri-State region of North Carolina, Virginia and South Carolina.
Part of the reason for the hype is due to a reasonable purse for the 50-lap Limited Late Model event, which is scheduled for immediately following the ASA STARS National Tour event, the Tar Heel 250.
Track Enterprises, which is promoting the event, will pay $1,000 to the winner of the event. The important part of the structure of the purse is that it pays fairly throughout the top-10 positions. The second place finisher will receive $500, while the fifth place driver across the line will be paid $300. 10th place will pay the team’s tire bill for the event.

The ASA National Tour is proud to be part of that with two specific stops in the Tar Heel state. Prior to the stop at Hickory Motor Speedway, ASA will kick off North Carolina Speedweeks with a stop at historic North Wilkesboro Speedway, which coincidently begins NASCAR All-Star week at the resurrected race track.
The ECMD 150 for the ASA STARS National Tour will be under the lights of North Wilkesboro Speedway on Tuesday, May 16. Pavement Super Late Models will provide an adrenaline rush for all those in attendance at the .625-mile oval. Tickets are available to purchase online at the North Wilkesboro website. The schedule for the ECMD 150 day at North Wilkesboro is available on the ASA STARS National Tour website.
The ASA STARS National Tour opened its ten-race, six-state schedule at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, FL on March 11. Georgia racer Casey Roderick won the Sunshine State 200. ASA STARS National Tour
The ASA STARS National Tour debuted in March of 2023 for Super Late Model racing in America. Announced last October, many of the best drivers in America will compete in the ten-race national tour with a minimum $100,000 point fund. The championship team will be guaranteed $25,000.
The ASA STARS National Tour is made up of three races from each of the regional pavement Super Late Model Series under the Track Enterprises banner; the ASA CRA Super Series, the ASA Midwest Tour and the ASA Southern Super Series.
The Team Construction Winner’s Circle program has been announced as a part of the ASA STARS National Tour for licensed drivers/teams with perfect attendance. The program provides additional financial incentives to those teams who support the Series, thanks to Team Construction.
Track Enterprises, a Racing Promotions Company based in Illinois, will operate the ASA STARS National Tour. It announced the acquisition of the CRA sanctioning body in January and followed that up with the purchase of the Midwest Tour in July. In October, Track Enterprises President, Bob Sargent announced a partnership with the Southern Super Series which set the table for the formation of the ASA STARS National Tour.
