Johnson Collects First Career Nashville Win in All American 100

Nashville, TN – In what was the final event of the season for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance and the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway Pro Late Models, Mount Juliet, Tennessee native Chase Johnson collected his first career win at the historic Speedway. Meanwhile, even after being involved in an accident just after halfway, Dawson Sutton collected his first career Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway track championship.

Conner Mosak and Jeremy Miller led the field of 35 cars to the green flag while Sutton, who set a new JEGS Tour track record during qualifying rolled from the seventh spot after the redraw. Mosak led the opening six laps before Hunter Wright took the top spot after the first caution flag of the night when LB Scaggs and Zach Johnson came together in turns three and four.

Wright wasn’t able to get comfortable at the front of the field with Johnson on his heels all night. At one point, Johnson was 0.010 seconds from taking the lead when a caution flew putting him back into second. When Johnson was finally able to put his Action Homes No.20 at the front of the field, slight contact from Wright sent Johnson up the hill and back to fourth behind Miller and George Phillips.

Despite seven cautions throughout the event, a 53-lap green flag run to the finish allowed Johnson to fight his way back onto the podium. With just 10 laps to go Johnson applied the same pressure to Wright, getting the 29 loose at the exit of turn four allowing Johnson to take the lead and drive away to his first career Pro Late Model win at Nashville. Wright held on for second while Miller brought home third. Kaden Honeycutt and Albert Francis rounded out the top five.

The next event for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance will be the Championship Awards Ceremony the first weekend of January; additional details are expected to be released this week.

Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway returns to action on Sunday for the 40th Running of the Curb Records Big Machine Vodka Spiked Coolers All American 400 Presented by US Tank.
