Nason With Another Strong Performance
He came into the weekend coming off his career best finish with the ASA STARS National Tour at Anderson Speedway during the Redbud 400. Nason kept the momentum rolling and was fast all day Saturday during practice at Owosso Speedway. He came home 2nd overall in practice and had a strong piece. That speed carried over to the race as Nason led 37 laps and had a hard battle with Chandler Smith for the lead. Nason would go on to finish 2nd and have another strong performance.
Boschele Has Breakout Race
Gavan Boschele made his 2nd career start with the ASA STARS National Tour on Sunday at Owosso Speedway. Boschele was behind the wheel of the Wilson Motorsports 28 car. The youngster would start 12th and work his way up to a solid 3rd place finish. A +9 would earn Boschele the Hard Charger Award.
Hot Would Be An Understatement
When race time rolled around feels like temps were around 98 degrees. With no wind and no cloud cover, Sunday’s race was a true test to the drivers and crews stamina and endurance.
Burda Has a Solid Run
Chase Burda came away with a 7th place finish on Sunday. However Burda ran top 5 for most of the race finishing 3rd in Stage 2. The Michigan native had a strong run and will look to carry that into the Glass City 200 at Toledo Speedway.
Roderick Takes Home Go Fas Pole Award
The current points leader in the ASA STARS National Tour would waste no time getting to the top of the charts during Go Fas Pole Qualifying. Roderick would take home the $1,000 bonus with a lap of 14.322 and would lead the field to the green in the Michigan 200.
Steckly Has Busy Weekend
On Saturday night Kyle Steckly was running in the APC Pro Late Series at Sauble Speedway in Canada. The young driver came away with the win in the series and then made the 4 hour and 50 minute trip across the border to Owosso Speedway. Steckly would be fast right out of the box coming home 2nd quick in Go Fas Pole Qualifying. Steckly would go on to finish 6th in the Michigan 200.
Chase Pinsonneault Makes Super Late Model Debut
Coming into this weekend Chase Pinsonneault had never run a Super Late Model. The young Canadian driver currently drives for Carson Hocevar in the CRA JEGS All Star Tour. Despite having no Super Late experience Pinsonneault learned quickly and qualified 6th quick. Pinsonneault would come away with an 8th place finish and learned alot from his debut.
Three Races Remain in 2024
With seven races complete there are now only three races left in the 2024 season. Up next for the ASA STARS National Tour is the Glass City 200 at Toledo Speedway in Ohio. The event will take place on Saturday September 14th. Following Toledo the series will head to Winchester Speedway for the historic Winchester 400 on October 13th. The 2024 season will come to a close on Sunday November 3rd at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway with the All American 400.
