Toledo, OH – The countdown is on to one of Ohio’s most prestigious short track events as Toledo Speedway prepares to host the Glass City 200 on Saturday, September 13. A tradition-rich race that has showcased some of the best talent in Super Late Model and Outlaw racing, the Glass City 200 once again promises fans an unforgettable night of high-speed action, drama, and championship-caliber competition.
Now in its 37th running, the Glass City 200 has become a crown jewel in Ohio asphalt racing, blending history with a modern showcase of today’s best drivers. The event will feature 200 laps of door-to-door racing, combining the Appalachian Sucker Punch ASA STARS National Tour and the ASA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS.
“Every year, the Glass City 200 delivers one of the most exciting shows of the season,” said Track Enterprises President Bob Sargent. “It’s a race that means so much to the fans, to the drivers, and to the tradition of racing in Toledo. With the lineup we expect this year, it has all the makings of another classic.”
The Glass City 200 has long been a proving ground for future stars and a showcase for seasoned veterans. Past winners include short track legends like Bob Senneker, Junior Hanley and Steve Sauve. This year’s entry list is expected to feature a mix of national names, regional powerhouses, and hungry young drivers all chasing their place in Glass City history.
In addition to the headline event, fans will enjoy a full afternoon of racing as the Factory Stocks and Late Model Sportsman will battle it out for their Championships giving families and race-goers plenty of action-packed entertainment. Practice will get underway at Noon with the ASA STARS National Tour while CorvetteParts.Net Pole Qualifying is slated for 3:00 PM. Following Qualifying the Factory Stocks and Late Model Sportsman will run their features. At 4:30 PM we’ll have an on track autograph session with the field for the 37th CorvetteParts.Net Glass City 200 until 5:00 PM with the 200 lapper set to begin at 5:30 PM.
