(Pensacola, FL) – PepperJack Kennels Rookie of the Year competitor George Phillips is entered for the Sunshine State 200 Presented by Appalachian Sucker Punch at Five Flags Speedway on Sunday March 23rd.
Phillips is coming off a strong ASA STARS National Tour debut with a 4th place finish at the Clyde Hart Memorial. The young Phillips is no stranger to Victory Lane. In 2023 he was the Carolina Pro Late Model Series Champion picking up 6 wins in 12 starts and finished in the Top 10 in all but one start. Phillips competed in the Allen Turner Pro Late Model Series at Five Flags Speedway last year and finished in the Top 10 twice including a 2nd place finish back on August 23rd.
The Sunday, March 23rd matinee will conclude the weekend as the top Super Late Model drivers in the country will square off in the ASA STARS National Tour Sunshine State 200. The event is a combination race with the ASA Southern Super Series and the track’s Blizzard Series. Qualifying will be at 12:00 pm CT, autograph session at 12:45 pm CT, and racing at 2:00 pm CT.
Last year’s opening weekend saw great racing for all three days and fans can catch the whole weekend this year for a special price of just $60 for a three-day ticket. Single day tickets are also available for reserved and general admission seating.
