FLORIDA NATIVES WATSON AND FINCH AIM TO PROTECT THEIR HOME TURF

(Pensacola, FL) Just over one week away the entries continue to come in for the ASA STARS National Tour Sunshine State 200 at 5 Flags Speedway Sunday March 24th. Two Florida natives will be looking to keep the trophy in the Sunshine State.

Timothy Watson

The young driver from Panama City, FL is looking to make a name for himself at the Sunshine State 200. Watson has found success at 5 Flags Speedway early in his career as he is the two time and defending Outlaw division Track Champion. This season Watson plans to still run select Outlaw races at 5 Flags Speedway while also running for Southern Super Series Rookie of the Year. Look for Watson’s knowledge and home track advantage to pay off on Sunday March 24th.

Jake Finch

The 2021 Outlaw division Champion at 5 Flags Speedway is looking for a solid run in race 2 of the ASA STARS National Tour season. Finch is coming off of a 10th place finish at the Clyde Hart Memorial at New Smyrna Speedway in a who’s who of Super Late Model racing. To add to his Outlaw title the young driver also finished second in the 2020 running of the Snowflake 100. Finch will also look to run Double Duty as he will be competing in the ARCA race on Saturday night. Finch claimed an ARCA Menards Series East win last season at Dover, where he led 89 of the 127 laps. He had four other East Series starts, taking 3rd at 5 Flags, 5th at Nashville, 9th at Milwaukee, and 4th at Bristol.

The ASA STARS National Tour returns to action on Sunday afternoon, March 24 for the Sunshine State 200 at the legendary Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, FL. The event will be a “Spring Break Stock Car Double Header,” as the ASA STARS National Tour will be joined by the ARCA Menards Series East on Saturday, March 23. It’s all part of a three-day weekend of racing that begins on Friday, March 22 with the season opener for three local classes. All tickets can be purchased online, at 5flagsspeedway.com or trackenterprises.com.
