Dawson Sutton Sets Fast Time for Sunday’s All American 400

(NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE) – For the first time in over 20 years, a driver has won back-to-back Hamke Racecar Pole Awards at the All American 400.

A year ago, Dawson Sutton (Lebanon, TN) started from the pole and led a race-high 202 laps to win the All American 400. This was only the eighth time in the race’s history that the pole winner went on to win.

On Saturday, Sutton picked up where he left off by setting fast time for Sunday’s race. He is looking to become the first driver to win back-to-back All American 400 races since Eddie Hoffman in the Pro Late Model portions of the race in 2007 and 2008. The last time it was done in a Super Late Model was 1997 and 1998 when Freddie Query had the honors. Only seven drivers have ever won the race more than twice, with Jeff Purvis being the only three-time winner.
Behind Sutton were fellow All American 400 winner Mat Craig, Derek Thorn, Treyten Lapcevich, and Cole Butcher. The rest of the top 10 included ASA STARS Championship point leader Carson Brown, Stephen Nasse, Kasey Kleyn, Brandon Lopez, and Derek Kraus. Three former winners of the All American will start in the top 10.

The All American 400 concludes with the Super Late Model portion of the event on Sunday, November 8th. The 31st running of the event will go green at 1 pm CT as the best Super Late Model drivers chase the Nashville guitar.
