Thornburg, VA — The trend of Cole Butcher’s dominance in the Super Late Model world has been perpetuated once again, resulting in his most recent victory in the ASA STARS Appalachian Sucker Punch 250 at Dominion Raceway.

The new stop for the tour brought a lot of unknown factors and variables to the ASA STARS field, but one thing remained constant—no one can touch Cole Butcher and Wilson Motorsports.

The pairing, who came off of a dominant victory in the ASA STARS Sunshine State 200 back in March, earned their second consecutive victory on the ASA STARS season.

The team heads to Hickory Motor Speedway next for the Tar Heel 250. The North Carolina facility is yet another track where Cole Butcher knows how to dominate, having done so in the 2024 rendition of the Tar Heel 250.

Behind Cole Butcher, it was Derek Thorn who made a late-race charge to come home in the second position. It was a valiant effort for Thorn and Highland Motorsports in their neck of the woods. It was also fitting for the team, seeing as how the car’s sponsor also held title sponsor status for the event as well as the entire series, that being Appalachian Sucker Punch.

For third place Jake Garcia, a solid day at Dominion added to his list of impressive Super Late Model finishes in 2025. Garcia, the full-time NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series competitor, is not a Platinum Program ASA STARS driver. Despite not being a full-time STARS Tour competitor, he sits comfortably within the top ten in series standings.

Speaking of the standings, it was a tough outing for Gavan Boschele, who led the points coming into the event. After suffering a flat tire and finishing 15th, Boschele’s misfortune has granted Cole Butcher with a very comfortable points lead as the tour heads to Hickory.

The series will travel to the aforementioned Hickory Motor Speedway on Thursday, May 22nd. The race will be the first event in a doubleheader weekend, with the series also traveling to Newport Speedway in Tennessee on Saturday, May 24th.
