The ASA STARS National Tour is ready to head back to the Toledo Speedway for the Glass City 200 on Saturday September 14th. ASA has had a storied past at the historic half mile. The first ASA race at Toledo was held in 1979 and won by Ricky Knotts.
1980’s – After a year away from Toledo in 1980 the series returned in 1981 when the Polar Bear Mike Eddy won. The series would be back again in 1982 and Joe Ruttman would be the winner. The third and final race during the 80’s would be in 1983 when Rusty Wallace won.
1990’s – After an 8 year hiatus ASA would return in 1991. Scott Hansen would be the winner. 1992 Bob Senneker would win with Johnny Benson jr. winning in 1993. In 1994 the decision was made to host two races a year at Toledo. One race would be held in the spring and the second race would be held in the fall. Winning the Glass City 300 in the spring of 1994 was Butch Miller while Scott Hansen would win the fall race coined as the Toledo 400. In 1995 Mike Eddy would win the Glass City 300 on May 7th while Bryan Reffner won the Toledo 400 in October. 1996 would be the last year ASA would race at Toledo in the 90’s. Scott Hansen won the Glass City 200 on May 5th while Brad Loney would win the Toledo 400.
2000’s – The early 2000’s or the end of the ASA National Tour would see the series go back to Toledo once a year. In 2000 Tim Sauter won the Glass City 300. 2001 Johnny Sauter would win the Glass City 300. That would be one of his 10 wins in his Championship winning season. In 2002 Joey Clanton would win in the Metro Toledo Ford Dealers 300. 2003 would be the final time that the ASA National Tour ran at Toledo. Butch Miller would go on to win the Glass City 300.
Last year marked the return of ASA at the Toledo Speedway. Jesse Love was the winner of the Glass City 200. This year will mark the 19th time that ASA has raced at Toledo Speedway. ASA and Toledo have had a storied history and put on plenty of big events throughout the years.

ASA STARS National Tour
Founded by Track Enterprises President Bob Sargent, The ASA STARS National Tour for pavement super-late model stock cars debuted in March 2023 for Super Late Model racing in America.
The ASA STARS National Tour is a ten-race championship series, offering a $100,000 point fund. The tour will visit ten different race tracks in 7 states in 2024, with the season beginning in February during Florida Speedweeks, and concluding in early November at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway.
Track Enterprises (TE) is a racing Promotions Company based in Illinois, which owns and operates the ASA STARS National Tour. In addition to the STARS National Tour, Track Enterprises owns and operates Championship Racing Association (CRA) and the ASA Midwest Tour. TE also has a strategic alliance and controlling interest in the ASA Southern Super Series.

ASA Branded Tours encompasses four (4) pavement super late model racing series operating under the Track Enterprises banner, and under the ASA Brand via a licensing agreement for logo and IP Rights. ASA Branded Tours include the ASA STARS National Tour; the ASA CRA Super Series; The ASA Midwest Tour and the ASA Southern Super Series.
