Off to a good start with a strong finish at Toledo

Apr 14, 2014 – Ty Majeski joins the ARCA Midwest Tour presented by Scag Power Equipment this season with high hopes, stating, “I chose to compete in the ARCA Midwest Rookie Program for a few reasons. As I progressed in my career, I realized that the level of competition in the ARCA Midwest Tour is top notch. The reputation of the ARCA Midwest Tour speaks for itself with the professionalism, the organization, and the fairness. Although I know it will be a big challenge, I feel that I am a very competitive driver and will work hard to win the title of Rookie of the Year.”
Majeski began racing at the age of nine, becoming successful in go-karts. After earning several local and national championships, it was at a national event that Majeski’s race career moved to another level. Majeski recalled, “I caught the eye of Mr. Bobby Waltrip in a national go-kart racing event in Mississippi in 2009 and he asked me to test a late model at Hickory Motor Speedway. After a successful test and many decisions to make, I ran my first race at Columbus Speedway where I finished twelfth.” Majeski moved on to compete at Wisconsin tracks, Dells Raceway Park and Madison International Speedway, in 2010 and finished seventh in points at the Madison oval in 2011.
Majeski was very busy in 2011, not only at Madison, but other tracks. Majeski competed in the Big 8 Series, finishing sixth in points to earn Rookie of the Year honors and winning Rockford’s National Short Track Championship event. Majeski also competed in an ASA Truck in 2011, claiming one fast time and two feature wins. Majeski’s sophomore year was followed by a move into a super late model, where many mechanical and engine problems kept him from joining the ARCA Midwest Tour. The 2012 season did see Majeski gain experience at several other tracks, gaining valuable experience at ovals in Michigan and Wisconsin.
The 2013 season saw Majeski’s focus change, claiming, “I needed more seat time and I also wanted to spend more time working on the car.” Majeski visited Wisconsin tracks at Kaukauna, La Crosse, Yellow River, Slinger and Marshfield, earning two quick times and double wins at La Crosse as well as posting fast time at the ARCA Midwest Tour event in Marshfield. Majeski capped off last year by winning the late model race and two of the three segments of the Dick Trickle 99. Not only that, but Majeski competed in the ARCA Midwest Tour field and finished eleventh in the feature.
The 2014 season will be a new challenge for Majeski, competing in three different late models for three owners, one crew chief and support team, but all the cars will sport Majeski’s familiar number 91. Majeski’s La Crosse car owners will be Johnny’s Hobbies and C & C Motorsports, the super late model owner Frog Racing, and Team M owns the ARCA super late model. Majeski is grateful for what he has, stating, “I would like to thank everyone that will support me this season. Ted Mannstedt & Son Structural Steel Fab, Le Jeune Bolt, Johnny’s Hobbies, Treos Outside Service and Frog Racing are my car owners and sponsors. I would like to thank the crew for everything they have done so far and in advance for the season ahead. I would especially like to thank my crew chief Toby Nuttleman. He is the person that has supported me and given me this unbelievable opportunity. He is the backbone of the team and I can’t wait to begin working with him full time in the 2014 season.”
Majeski also knows he has to work to achieve his success, explaining, “I have many goals for the 2014 season. In particular I am striving to be competitive, win races and bring home the Rookie of the Year title from the ARCA Midwest Tour.”
