Event Preview – Slinger Set to Kickoff 2024 Midwest Tour Season

The region’s best Super Late Model drivers are ready to converge on ‘The World’s Fastest Asphalt ¼ Mile Oval the Slinger Super Speedway this Sunday April 21st. An entry list of nearly 40 cars are ready to compete for the Jerry Priesgen Memorial presented by Zuern Building Products.

The event features a 100 lap Super Late Model Feature along with a Super Late Model Last Chance race and the Slinger vs. Midwest Tour 6 lap Dash. Also on the card for the day are Features for the Late Models, Super Beez, Slinger Bees and the Wild and Crazy Figure 8’s.

Home Field Advantage
The Slinger Super Speedway Regulars are always tough to beat at their home track. 8 former Slinger Super Late Model Track Champions are entered with a combined total of 20 Championships. Drivers like 6 time Champion Steve Apel and veteran driver Conrad Morgan. Fan favorite Brad JJ Mueller is a 3 time Champion. Jeremy Lepak, Dennis Prunty and Alex Prunty are also former Champions, while former Slinger Champion Luke Fenhaus won this event in 2022 and Champion RJ Braun won this event in 2023.

Ty Majeski Is Back
The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver looks to get back behind the wheel of 91 machine. The 5 time ASA Midwest Tour Champion and 3 time Slinger Nationals Champion is set to make his 2nd Super Late Model start of the season this Sunday Afternoon.

Sommers Looks to Defend Title
Following a strong 2023 season where he clinched his first ASA Midwest Tour Title Gabe Sommers will look to defend the title in 2024. He was a two time winner last season picking up wins at Hawkeye Downs for the Hawkeye 100 and at the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway for the Oktoberfest 200.

The Cool Kid
15 year old Ty Fredrickson looks to keep the momentum rolling following his Icebreaker 100 win at the Dells Raceway Park this past Saturday. The young Minnesotan is ready to make his Slinger Super Speedway debut this Sunday.

Derek Kraus Returns
NASCAR Cup, Xfinity and Truck racer Derek Kraus will be on hand this Sunday in the family owned #9 car. The young hotshoe from Stratford, WI is a former runner up in the 2021 running of the Slinger Nationals.

The Pit Gate will open on Sunday at 7am, Practice will begin at 10am with Qualifying getting underway at 12:05. The first green flag is set to wave at 2pm. Don’t miss this must see event and kickoff the 2024 ASA Midwest Tour season in style.
