Midwest Truck Series at Wisconsin International Raceway /

Challenging, Extraordinary, Tradition, Unique

These are the words that came to mind when Midwest Truck Series Drivers were asked what one word they would use to describe Wisconsin International Raceway.

Brad Mueller- Challenging
When asked what one word he would use to describe racing at WIR, Mueller said “Challenging”. What makes it challenging is how you have to get a car dialed in for 4 different corners. As well as running at a track with a dog leg on the front stretch and a back stretch that forces your truck to dart every which way. Mueller finished second in last years Dixieland Delight after a hard clean battle with James Lynch.

Bryce Miller- Extraordinary
When asked what one word he would use he said, “That’s a tough one but I would go with, Extraordinary.” Miller said its unique shape, the high speeds, the bumpy surface and being able to pass on the top side and the bottom side all make it extraordinary. Miller was the winner of the Dixieland Delight in 2020.

Tom Gee- Tradition
When asked, Tom Gee said, “Tradition.” That would make sense as Gee has been racing at WIR since 1998. Gee’s uncle is Mike Butz, who has fielded the number 8 car with great drivers like Matt Kenseth, Terry Baldry & Jeff VanOudenhoven. Gee grew up watching the races on the turn one hill with his family where his family still sits every week. Gee also was the FRRC club president for a few years.

James Lynch- Unique
James Lynch used the word “unique” when asked what word he would use. Lynch said what makes it unique is the layout of the track and how each turn is different from one another. Lynch was able to overcome the unique track configuration in 2021 as he got his first career Midwest Truck Series win during the Dixieland Delight.
