June 11, 2014 – The 3rd Annual ARCA Fest is officially in the books, a race that drivers prepare for from the moment it ends to the moment the next one arrives. This year’s event proved to be a rough one for many of the ARCA Midwest Tour presented by Scag Power Equipment Touring Stars, but as all teams do, they are able to put it behind them and set their sights on the next event.

Cardell Potter was the top finishing Touring Star in the Howie Lettow 150 finishing in 10th, followed by James Swan in 11th. Swan found redemption after having been in a hard wreck in 2013. After a long weekend of ups and downs for the team it was a strong finish and a great points day.

For some, the next couple weeks will be a time to regroup and put the weekend behind them, as difficult as it may be. Chris Weinkauf and his team are one of those teams that will roll into Grundy County Speedway on June 20th with a little more determination. Weinkauf had what appeared to be the car to beat in the Howie Lettow Memorial, leading from lap 24 through lap 99 of 150 until he had to pull in and go behind the pit wall due to mechanical problems.

“I have had a lot of support from a lot of people…support from my team members and especially my wife (Wendi). We are not quitting and not giving up. We feel we have the momentum and if we keep working hard our day will come,” said Weinkauf.

Chris Weinkauf’s words are the epitome of the ARCA Midwest Touring Stars. The support that they receive keeps them going so that they can come back to each and every event, hold their heads high, and hit the track prepared to win, and you can be sure that’s exactly what every team will be ready to do next Friday night.

As the ARCA Midwest Tour heads to Grundy County Speedway next Friday, June 20th, Nathan Haseleu will continue to lead the point standings by 36 over Ty Majeski. Eilen is third only 48 points out of the lead, followed by Chris Weinkauf in fourth and Cardell Potter in fifth.

Majeski also maintains his rookie of the year points lead over Paul Shafer Jr., Joel Theisen, and Matt Kocourek.
