The ARCA Midwest Tour presented by SCAG Power Equipment and Lester Buildings made the pilgrimage to Norway Speedway in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula for the DOC 360 100 lapper at the 1/3 mile speedway. DOC 360 Touring Star Nathan Haseleu held off a hard charging Dalton Zehr over the last 62 laps to score his second consecutive victory at Norway Speedway. The win was Haseleu’s sixth career feature win.

Weinkauf Sets Fast Time In Qualifying

Team Spiked Island Touring Star Chris Weinkauf worked out the bugs of his new race car and set fast time for the DOC 360 100. Weinkauf’s fifth career fast time moved him into sole possession of fifth place on the all time fast qualifiers list breaking a tie with Fellow Team Spiked Island Touring Star Jacob Goede and Johnny Sauter. Weinkauf trails all time co-leaders Nathan Haseleu and DOC 360 Touring Star Chris Wimmer who have ten each. Team i-gogs Sunglasses Dan Fredrickson has seven.

Storm Continues To Improve With Rebuilt Car

Team i-gogs Sunglasses Touring Star Jeff Storm finished third with the same car he nearly destroyed in a crash at Madison International Speedway a few weeks back. Storm had the throttle stick coming into turn one at MIS and slammed hard into the turn one wall. The crew fixed all the damage and apparently the hard work is paying off. Storm only managed a 20th place finish in his return to the scene at MIS, but his strong third place run shows that perhaps the car is getting better.

Bickle’s First Ever Trip To Norway

Team i-gogs Sunglasses Touring Star Rich Bickle has said that 2013 will be his last year driving a race car. He had raced at well over 200 different race tracks in his illustrious career, yet somehow Norway Speedway had always eluded him. Bickle struggled a bit at Norway, but managed to bring it home for a eleventh place finish.

Points Battle Rages On As Season Winds Down

There are only three races remaining on the 2013 schedule and the points race is heating up. Dan Fredrickson was able to stretch his lead over Chris Wimmer ever so slightly by finishing one position higher in the feature. Fredrickson holds a 34 point lead over Wimmer 1,455-1,421. Nathan Haseleu’s win keeps him third in the points with 1,386. Team Spiked Island Touring Star Jacob Goede is fourth with 1,346. Defending ARCA Midwest Tour Champion and Team i-gogs Sunglasses Touring Star Jonathan Eilen rounds out the top five with 1,323

Rookie Points Down To Three Cars

The ARCA Midwest Tour rookie points battle has turned into a three car race. Team Spiked Island Touring Star James Swan padded his lead over Dennis Prunty with a seventh place finish at Norway. Swan has a twenty point lead over Prunty, 1,230-1,210. Prunty salvaged a 14th place finish in the feature. Team Vita Ice Touring Star Jeremy Miller lost some ground when he was the unfortunate first car to drop out of the race and finish last. Miller has 1,163 points and trails Swan by 67.

Next Event Is At Marshfield Motor Speedway

The ARCA Midwest Tour returns to the Marshfield Motor Speedway for its next event on Saturday August 31st. Team Vita Ice Touring Star Skylar Holzhausen will look to sweep both races at the track after capturing the first event back in June. Practice will get underway at 1:30pm with qualifying slated to begin at 5pm. The autograph session will be at 5:45pm in the main grandstands and the racing action is set to begin at 7pm.
