ARCA Midwest Tour Dells Raceway Park Race Day Recap

June 10, 2013 – The ARCA Midwest Tour presented by SCAG Power Equipment and Lester Buildings returned to Dells Raceway Park this past Saturday night after a two year hiatus. It was a perfect night of racing with a huge crowd on hand to enjoy the lap after lap excitement. The battle for the lead was a nail biter all the way to the end. The winningest driver in the ARCAMT added one more to his credit.

DAN FREDRICKSON MAKES IT TWO IN A ROW

i-gogs Sunglasses Touring Star, Dan Fredrickson has been on a roll lately both literally and figuratively. Fredrickson won the Dells Raceway Park 100 Saturday night, June 8th, his second in a row and third top two finish in the first three races of the season. Fredrickson battled hard for his position as he and DOC 360 Touring Star, Chris Wimmer fought to the finish. But in the end the #36 won the battle and took home the victory.

After winning the JRI Shocks Fast Dash of the top 16 qualifiers, DOC 360 Touring Star, Jason Weinkauf earned the honors of starting in the top spot of the 100 lap event.

Dennis Prunty won the Hedman Hedders Qualifier and lined up just behind the the top 16 in qualifying and ahead of the remainder of the field.

NATHAN HASELEU SCORES HIS FIRST FAST QUALIFIER AWARD OF THE SEASON

DOC 360 Touring Star, Nathan Haseleu admittedly is not the best when it comes to qualifying, but you would have never known it on Saturday night when he turned the fastest lap out of the 26 car field. Haseleu recorded a 13.213 second lap to earn the B&B Racing Engines, VDL systems fast qualifier award. Vita Ice Touring Star, Skylar Holzhausen was second with at 13.249 followed by Travis Sauter with a 13.252.

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR CONTENDERS OFF TO A GOOD START

Vita Ice Touring Star, Jeremy Miller was the highest finishing Rookie of the Year contender in the field. Miller finished an impressive fourth after starting all the way back in the 15th spot. Dennis Prunty who has had much success at the track also finished in the top ten in tenth. Bobby Kendall finished in the 18th position. After mechanical problems cut his night short, Spiked Island Touring Star, James Swan finished a disappointing 26th. Regardless, Swan still leads the tight ROY points standings with 563, only two over Bobby Kendall with 561. Prunty is only five points out of the hunt with 558 and Jeremy Miller is in fourth with 518.

FREDRICKSON BEGINS TO STRETCH HIS POINTS LEAD

It may be early in the season but Dan Fredrickson is doing what it takes to stretch out an early lead. The top three in the point standings should be no surprise as they are in the order of the finish at DRP. Fredrickson leads with 673 points over Wimmer who has 635 and Haseleu with 621.
