Haseleu Carries Momentum into 2014

Nathan Haseleu had a fast car all weekend and followed it up with a win in Sunday’s “6th Annual Joe Shear Classic” at Madison International Speedway. After winning the Oktoberfest 100 last fall, Haseleu was able to keep his momentum heading into the 2014 season. Haseleu and his RaceTeamGear.com, Colony Brands and The Swiss Colony team held off a hard-charging Kyle Shear all the way to the checkered flag.

Haseleu was joined in the Hedman Husler Hedders Husler Zone by Kyle Shear and Skylar Holzhausen, finishing second and third.

Haseleu holds a 29-point lead over Ross Kenseth. Touring Stars, Jonathan Eilen, Ty Majeski and Andrew Morrissey currently round out the top five in points two races into the season.

Former Touring Star Sets Fast Time

While there has only been two races so far this season, some Touring Stars are ready to start over. Chris Weinkauf has found himself on the hook in each of the first two events. Weinkauf was the fastest in overall practice over the weekend, but was unable to capitalize after being caught up in a wreck on Sunday and finishing 23rd. Brother and fellow Touring Star, Jason Weinkauf also found himself out of the race early on Sunday finishing in 26th.

Aside from Haseleu in the winner’s circle, James Swan was the next highest finishing Touring Star in seventh. Boris Jurkovic and Jonathan Eilen finished ninth and tenth. Joel Theisen, Andrew Morrissey, and Nick Barstad rounded out the top 15. Cardell Potter was 17th. Ty Majeski was 20th and Casey Johnson 21st, while Matt Kocourek was 24th and Donny Reuvers was 27th.
