Salem, Indiana (December 24, 2018): Champion Racing Association Powered by JEGS officials have released the 2019 inaugural schedule for the newly announced Victory Custom Trailers CRA Junior Late Models. The Victory Custom Trailers CRA Junior Late Models is a new racing series in 2019 to focus on a youth movement for short track stock car racing that will see 10 to 15-year-old drivers compete amongst themselves for both experience and recognition in full size late models with an economical drive train and suspension alternatives.
The series will use the same Chase for the Championship playoff format that CRA has successfully used with its other four divisions the past two seasons. The final three scheduled races will be utilized as the playoffs or “Chase”. Prior to the start of the three races, the top 6 teams in wins (then points) that have attended 70% of the points events are eligible for the Chase. Prior to the season’s last event, the Season Long Points Leader and the top 2 Chase for the Championship teams in wins (then points) during the Chase and were at all Chase events, will race for the season’s championship, with the highest finishing team in that event declared the season’s champion.
The regular season events will consist of eight lap heat races and 25 lap features. The tentative Season Championship event will be a 50 lap feature. The majority of the series events will coincide with existing events on the CRA schedules.
The series’ first ever event will take place at Flat Rock Speedway in Flat Rock, Michigan on Sunday, April 28th. The racy quarter mile will also host the JEGS/CRA All-stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance season opener on that same Sunday. The track has hosted several ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS events over the past several season’s and has produced some great side by side racing action.
The series second event will be at Birch Run Speedway in Birch Run, Michigan on their ¼ mile oval on Saturday, May 18th. The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour will also be in action that night on the 4/10’s mile track at Birch Run.
The series third event will take place at Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana on Saturday, June 15th. Anderson has hosted more CRA events than any other track since the sanctioning body started racing in 1997. The Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks will be in action that night as well, in their third 200 lap Four Crown event of the season that evening.
The series fourth event will take place at Baer Field Motorsports Park on their ¼ mile oval on Saturday, July 6th. The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour will be racing that same weekend at Baer Field on Sunday, July 7th as part of a huge weekend of racing at the south Ft. Wayne, Indiana facility.
The series fifth race of the season will take place at the Indianapolis Speedrome in Indianapolis, Indiana on Sunday, July 14th. That event and the CRA Street Stocks 200 lap Four Crown Championship event that day will be the first ever CRA events contested on the racy ¼ mile.
The series will return to Baer Field Motorsports Park for their sixth event of the season on Saturday, July 27th. The ARCA/CRA Super Series will also be in action that night at Baer Field.
The series seventh event will take place at Corrigan Oil Speedway located in Mason, Michigan on Friday, August 16th. That will be the first ever CRA event at Corrigan Oil Speedway, it will be a stand-alone CRA event that day and will be the first event of the Chase for the Championship for the series.
The series eighth race of the season will be at Toledo Speedway in Toledo, Ohio on their 1/5 mile short track on Saturday, September 21st as part of the huge Glass City 200 event. That event will be the second event in the Chase for the Championship. Also in action that night will be the ARCA/CRA Super Series in a 100 lap event and the ARCA Outlaw Late Models in a 100 lap event.
The series huge Season Championship event tentatively scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 2nd at the famed Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville, Tennessee on their ¼ mile oval. That event will be the first ever Junior Late Models National Championship event and the series Chase for the Championship finally. The event will be 50 laps and will pay the winner $2000. That event will be part of the famed All American 400 Weekend.
