ARCA Midwest Touring Stars Return to Dells Raceway Park Saturday Night

June 25, 2014 – In the last three ARCA Midwest Tour presented by Scag Power Equipment short track races, 19 year old Ty Majeski has finished on the podium. He finished third at State Park Speedway, captured his first series win at Illiana Motor Speedway, and most recently came in second at Grundy County Speedway this past Friday night.
But the season has not been a cake walk for Majeski. “We started off the season with really fast race cars but no luck in a lot of the early races,” said Majeski of the events he did not fair so well in. “I felt like I had a podium finish car in all of those events, but the luck just didn’t go our way.”
With the success he’s had he is currently 15 points out of the series point lead and leads the Rookie of Year point standings. Majeski attributes his success to the chemistry of his team.
“This is my first year with C&C Motorsports. We are really starting to gel and build the chemistry that we need. My crew chief, Toby Nuttleman, and I are starting to communicate really well and both learning what the car needs, and Toby has been learning what I like in the car.”
As Majeski heads into Dells Raceway Park this Saturday, June 28th for the Lester Buildings 100 his focus will be on winning as it always is, but he also has other things on his mind.
“I’d be lying if I said points weren’t on my mind. I’m always keeping my eyes out for the 87 (Nathan Haseleu) and focused on staying ahead of him. I’m not going to force the issue but I’ll do whatever I can and the points will shake themselves out.”
The last time Ty raced at Dells Raceway Park was in 2010 in a limited late model. He admittedly expects a little bit of a learning curve as he hasn’t been on the track since they repaved the bottom groove. “It might throw me for a loop at first, but the track suits my driving style so hopefully we can keep our momentum rolling.
Majeski started racing go karts when he was 9 years old and has maintained a connection to his roots. “I grew up racing karts and it’s something that has stuck with me and it’s been a part of me.”
Ty started his own business supporting drivers and parents both on and off the track teaching kart set-up, coaching kids on driving, sportsmanship, and communication. “I feel like it’s a great way to keep in contact with the community because it’s been a part of me for so long.”
In the fall Majeski will return to the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he is studying Chemical Engineering.
“Of course racing is where I’d like to be, but I’ve always liked chemistry and feel that it could be something to fall back on and something I will enjoy in the future.”
