Two-time Joe Shear Classic Winner, Nathan Haseleu, Returns To MIS With Confidence

Green Flag Drops for the ARCA Midwest Tour Season Opener on May 3rd

by Kari Shear-Carlson
April 25, 2015 – Nathan Haseleu has been the only driver to start every ARCA Midwest Tour presented by Scag Power Equipment event since the series began. While he will not be running the full schedule in 2015, the Pardeeville, WI driver will join the Tour on Sunday, May 3rd at Madison International Speedway for the 7th Annual Joe Shear Classic.

Haseleu is the defending champion and only multiple winner of the event, his first being the inaugural event in 2009. “I really like running the Joe Shear Classic. I’ve won it twice and MIS is one of my favorite tracks. Not only is it close to home, but my sponsor, Colony Brands, really likes racing there too,” said the two-time event winner.

This will be Haseleu’s second race of the 2015 season, having finished fifth in a recent event at Dells Raceway Park. “We changed a lot of things over the winter and felt competitive at the Dells. It gave us a chance to figure some things out. I think we’ll come into Madison even more confident because we will be on a familiar tire. There’s going to be a lot of good competition.”

In addition to being excited to run the event, Haseleu is looking forward to some other changes that took place over the winter. “It will be kind of neat to run the first race that Gregg (McKarns) is doing with the Tour and the track,” said Haseleu. “I also like to win cool trophies,” joked Haseleu, referring to the custom guitar he won in 2014.

Nathan and the rest of the ARCA Midwest Tour Stars and Cars will all be looking to win the next newly designed custom trophy when they hit the track for the season opening 7th Annual Joe Shear Classic on May 3rd.
