A first ever visit to Golden Sands Speedway in Plover, WI and a long overdue return to Jefferson Speedway, are sure to catch Midwest Short Track Auto Racing Fans’ attention heading into the new year.
Madison International Speedway will once again play host to the season opening Joe Shear Classic on Sunday afternoon May 7 before the tour makes its way to State Park Speedway for the Cabin Fever 100 on Saturday May 20. The month of May closes out on Memorial Day Weekend, when Jefferson Speedway welcomes the Super Late Model action of the Midwest Tour back to ‘Wisconsin’s Action Track’ for the first time since Touring Star Jonathan Eilen collected the win in 2008.
After a thrilling stop at Marshfield Motor Speedway last season, the ARCA Midwest Tour is proud to be part of the inaugural Bev Aschenbrenner Memorial event at the central Wisconsin speed plant on Saturday night June 10. The following weekend will find the region’s top drivers headed to Gateway Motorsports Park just outside St. Louis, joining the NASCAR Camping World Truck weekend at the one and a quarter mile paved oval, Saturday June 17.
Two Midwest Super Late Model traditions await the teams during the month of July. The Kar Korner All-Star 100 has been a fixture each summer, continuing the Rockford Speedway mid-season visit on Saturday July 1. Two weeks later finds the tour back in Chicagoland, new this season, for a Saturday night visit, when Rod Baker Ford and Illinois Truck and Equipment present the Wayne Carter Classic at Grundy County Speedway, Saturday June 15.
The first Tuesday in August marks the annual Forest County Potawatomi Dixieland 250 at Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna, WI. 250 grueling laps will be contested in what was called the “Best show of the summer” for the last two seasons. The Mid-Summer Showdown will take place at a new venue for the ARCA Midwest Tour, Golden Sands Speedway, as Touring Stars take on the top local talent on the tricky high banked facility on Saturday August 12.
Saturday night of Labor Day Weekend marks the traditional stop in the ‘World’s Waterpark Capital’, Wisconsin Dells for the Bill Meiller Memorial 101 presented by Assembly Products, September 2 at Dells Raceway Park. Elko Speedway has provided intense battles for the Thunderstruck 93 Commemorative Guitar Trophy over the past five seasons, and race fans can expect much of the same when the tour headlines the event Saturday September 23.
The 2017 ARCA Midwest Tour presented by Scag Power Equipment Champion will be crowned following the Oktoberfest 200, capping off the four day Oktoberfest Race Weekend at LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway in West Salem, WI. Fans witnessed Ty Majeski collect his third straight ARCA Midwest Tour Championship and first ever Oktoberfest 200 during the 2016 edition. Always falling five weekends after Labor Day, this year’s dates are Thursday October 5 through Sunday October 8, with tour qualifying and preliminary events on Saturday night and the Championship feature on Sunday afternoon.
