The Competition Continues to Add Up for the Dixieland 250

by Kari Shear-Carlson / July 27, 2015 – This week we continue to highlight the stars who will be seeking victory lane in the the ARCA Midwest Tour presented by Scag Power Equipment Potawatomi Dixieland 250 presented by Calypso Lemonade at Wisconsin International Raceway on Tuesday, August 4th.

Ross Kenseth is the son of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion, Matt Kenseth. Ross won 35 races from 2010-2013. He was also the Midwest Tour Rookie of the Year in 2010. In 2011, Kenseth won the Red, White, and Blue Championship at Wisconsin International Raceway. In 2012, he won the All-American 400, the Winchester 400, and the Red Bud 300. He has since continued on the path to success. He runs full-time in the ARCA Racing Series with one win under his belt this season. On June 20th Ross made his first NASCAR XFINITY Series start and finished an impressive sixth.

Tim Sauter competed in all three major NASCAR series, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the NASCAR XFINITY series, and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, between 2000 and 2007. He accumulated 10 top-ten finishes between the three series. In 1999, Sauter was the ASA National Tour Champion earning three wins, 15 top-fives and 16 top-tens that season. In 2014, he won his first ever ARCA Midwest Tour event at State Park Speedway in Wausau, WI. He also became the first driver to ever sweep the three special events held by the track each year, the Flip Merwin Memorial, the Larry Detjens Memorial, and the Lodi Memorial. Most recently, Sauter won his second consecutive Flip Merwin Memorial.

Skylar Holzhausen has always been a clutch competitor in the ARCA Midwest Tour. He has found success at tracks all over the upper Midwest, including a win in the Dick Trickle 99 held during Oktoberfest weekend at La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway. Skylar was the 2011 Midwest Tour Rookie of the Year. In that same year, he won the biggest event of the season at Elko Speedway, taking home a $10,000 paycheck. In 2013, Holzhausen captured his second ARCAMT win at Marshfield Motor Speedway. He recently rallied from three laps down to come home second in the ARCA Midwest Tour event at Grundy County Speedway.

The ARCA Midwest Tour will also be joined by the Big 8 Series on Tuesday night, August 4th. The grandstands will open at 4:00pm. Qualifying will begin at 5:00pm, opening ceremonies will be at 6:15 and racing at 7:00pm. See you there!
