by Kari Shear-Carlson / August 11, 2015 – The ARCA Midwest Tour presented by Scag Power Equipment Duel for Diabetes 100 at Norway Speedway this Friday, August 14th, will be the perfect mix of the Stars and Cars of the Midwest Tour and the top stars of Norway Speedway.
Twenty-four drivers have already entered the anticipated event. This will be the eighth time that the Midwest Tour will roll into the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The only two drivers to have won the previous events will not be racing in this year’s 100 lapper.
Dillon Kravoletz is the current point leader at the 1/3 mile oval and is ready to prove what he’s got against the ARCA Midwest Tour this Friday night.
“I’m looking forward to it this year. I really want to get a good finish. We haven’t had the greatest luck in this race. We’ve had a few flat tires, I believe in two or three of the times I’ve raced against the Tour at Norway. It would feel great to get a top three with all of the hard competition that travels with the series. I want to prove that I can race with them,” said Kravoletz.
Last year, current Midwest Tour point leader, Ty Majeski settled for second after a tough battle for the top spot against eventual winner Nathan Haseleu, who made it three in a row in the event.
With Haseleu not in the picture this year, Majeski isn’t convinced it will be any easier.
“I don’t race against the local guys much so I’m not too familiar with them. They are definitely good there. Norway is a very unique track. Last year, Nathan (Haseleu) was definitley better than us. We had a bad shock and figured it out just before the race, so we didn’t really know what we had. It might be a little easier without Nathan, but the Touring Stars and locals are just as strong, so we’ll have to see what we’ve got,” admitted Majeski.
Make your plans now for this Friday night’s Duel for Diabetes 100 at Norway Speedway. Spectator gates open at 5:00pm with qualifying set to begin at 5:45. There will be an ARCAMT autograph session in the grandstands at 6:15pm. Racing will begin at 7:00pm.
The ARCA Midwest Tour will be joined by the Sport Trucks, Street Stocks, and Fab Four.
