Mondeik Ready For Rockford
ARCA Midwest Tour Rookie of the Year contender Justin Mondeik had a tough day at Gateway Motorsports Park on June 17, becoming involved in a lap two incident in turn one at the mile and a quarter speedway, in which his car launched off the car of fellow Rookie driver Jim Sauter, Jr. The impact caused Mondeik’s car to flip violently while spinning like a top, before coming to rest back on all four wheels. Mondeik and his family race team have been busy working in their Gleason, WI shop to get his #44 Agra Industries Chevrolet ready for Saturday night’s Kar Korner All-Star 100 at Rockford Speedway. Long time Speedway supporters Paul and Paula McCann heard about this, and they decided to help Mondeik through their Stanley Steemer franchise.
“I saw the pictures of his wreck at Gateway, and to hear that they were going to have the car ready for Rockford was all I needed, we are in the cleaning business, his team cleaned up and fixed his car, so we decided that we would sponsor a set of tires for him this Saturday.” Stated Paul McCann, who is also sponsoring the NASCAR Stanley Steemer Late Models which will contest the Star Spangled 76 this Saturday at Rockford Speedway.
Spectator Gates open at 5, qualifying gets underway at 5:55pm with racing beginning at 7:07pm. A fan autograph session with the top 16 qualifiers for the ARCA Midwest Tour presented by SCAG Power Equipment will take place following the completion of qualifying in the Miller Lite Pavilion. Adult general admission tickets are $25, Children ages 6-11 are $10 with kids 5 and under admitted Free. The Stars and Cars of the ARCA Midwest Tour will highlight the night in the Kar Korner All-Star 100, the weekly NASCAR Stanley Steemer Late Models will battle for 76 laps in the Star Spangled 76 with the Miller Lite American Short Trackers running a 25 lap feature event plus preliminary events for all three classes.
