Driver Highlights Continue…
by Kari Shear-Carlson / July 31, 2015 – Wisconsin native, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver, Johnny Sauter, has ten wins in the Truck Series, his first coming in 2009 at Vegas Motor Speedway. He was also the NCWTS Rookie of the Year in that same year. Sauter isn’t limited to his NASCAR statistics. In 2001, Johnny had 10 wins, 13 podium finishes (10 in a row) and only one DNF capturing the ASA National Tour Championship. He is no stranger to success in the Midwest and is the most recent winner of the Dixieland event at WIR, capturing the win in 2014.
ARCA Midwest Touring Star, Chris Weinkauf, picked up his first ARCA Midwest Tour win in 2014 at Grundy County Speedway and is a threat to win at every event. Weinkauf isn’t only successful in the ARCA Midwest Tour. He was the 2010 State Park Speedway Champion and the winner of the Dick Trickle 99 in 2009.
James Swan has been a Touring Star with the ARCA Midwest Tour for the past three years. He was the ARCA Midwest Tour Rookie of the Year in 2013. In 2012 he was the Midwest Truck Tour Champion after previously being crowned a 5 time-time Mid American Stock Car Series Champion, 4 time Slinger Super Speedway Midwest Sportsman Champion, and the 2009 Big-8 Rookie of the Year.
The ARCA Midwest Tour will also be joined by the Big 8 Series on Tuesday night, August 4th. The grandstands will open at 4:00pm. Qualifying will begin at 5:00pm, opening ceremonies will be at 6:15 and racing at 7:00pm. See you there!
