Powersource Engines Ups Bounty for Chicagoland Drivers July 15 Wayne Carter Classic at Grundy

Ray Jager from Powersource Racing Engines has upped the ante for this Saturday night’s Wayne Carter Classic at Grundy County Speedway. The ARCA Midwest Tour presented by SCAG Power Equipment recently announced that a $1,000 reward will await any Super Late Model driver that can break the current winning streak that Ty Majeski is on. Now in addition to the $1,000 bonus, an additional $500 awaits any Chicagoland driver that can accomplish the feat, bringing their total bounty reward to $1,500 courtesy of Powersource.

Chicagoland favorites include 2017 Grundy feature winner and 2016 ARCA Midwest Tour point runner-up, 2013 Illiana Champion Paul Shafer, Jr, Chicagoland Legend and 2017 feature winner Larry Schulter, defending Grundy Champion Anthony Danta, second generation standouts DJ Weltmeyer and Andy Jones, current Grundy point leader and former Champion Billy Knippenberg, two time Grundy Champion Ricky Baker, three time Illiana Champion John Nutley, and multi-time Chicagoland Champion Eddie Hoffman. These Bounty Hunters lead the Chicagoland Charge to knock Ty Majeski off the winner’s podium and collect the bounty money, which for them has grown to $1,500.

In order for the bounty to be claimed, Majeski and his #91 machine must finish the event and be on the lead lap. Majeski rolls into the 1/3 mile Morris, IL fairgrounds oval searching for a record sixth straight feature triumph, he is also the defending race winner after making a daring pass for the win in the final laps of the 2016 contest. If Majeski claims the victory, the three time defending and current Tour point leader will pocket the extra loot.

The Wayne Carter Classic 100 Presented by Rod Baker Ford and Illinois Truck & Equipment will take place this Saturday night, July 15th at Grundy County Speedway in Morris, Illinois. Qualifying gets underway at 5pm with racing at 7pm. The Mid-American Stock Car Series and Illini Midgets will also be in action.
