ARCA Midwest Tour Returns to Wisconsin International Speedway on Tuesday, August 4th

July 25, 2015 – There are several reasons you will want to attend the ARCA Midwest Tour presented by Scag Power Equipment Potawatomi Dixieland 250 presented by Calypso Lemonade at Wisconsin International Raceway on August 4th. Not only is the tradition of one of the most prestigious events in Midwest racing history returning to one of the most challenging tracks on the circuit, but it will be a representation of the Who’s Who in short track racing, with top names from all over the country making their way to the D-shaped half-mile.
NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver, John Hunter Nemechek, started racing super late models in 2012 and joined the Midwest Tour at the Milwaukee Mile for the Howie Lettow Memorial. Nemechek captured the pole for that event. That same year, the 18 year old son of NASCAR driver, Joe Nemechek, won the Allison Legacy Series Championship having won 15 of the season’s 18 events. In 2014, he was the winner of the All American 400 and the Snowball Derby. Nemechek made his NCWTS debut in 2013 and is now a full-time driver in the series. He most recently won his first ever ARCA/CRA Super Series powered by JEGS event at Lucas Oil Raceway.
John DeAngelis has been making his mark in the Midwest in 2015. DeAngelis won his first ever super late model feature events earlier this season at Slinger Super Speedway. He was the 2014 Slinger Super Late Model Rookie of the Year and captured a feature win at Madison International Speedway. In 2013, DeAngelis was the Big 8 Sportsman of the Year and in 2011 he was the Slinger Nationals Limited Late Model Champion.
In 2007, Nathan Haseleu won the first ever Midwest Tour Championship. He accumulated seven Tour wins, 10 fast qualifier awards, 41 top-fives and 65 top-tens in the series as the only driver to compete in every event from 2007-2014. In 2001, Haseleu competed in 12 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races accumulating four top tens. In addition, he has numerous wins all over the state of Wisconsin since the beginning of his career, which started in a hobby stock when he was 16 years old.

The ARCA Midwest Tour will also be joined by the Big 8 Series on Tuesday night, August 4th. The grandstands will open at 4:00pm. Qualifying will begin at 5:00pm, opening ceremonies will be at 6:15 and racing at 7:00pm. See you there!
