Michael Waltrip Announces Intention to Run Milwaukee in 2013

Avondale, Ariz. — Thirty years after his only race at the Milwaukee Mile, Michael Waltrip hopes to start his second.

The two-time Daytona 500 winner and NASCAR team owner said Sunday he plans to race in the Midwest Tour Howie Lettow 150 next July, assuming his schedule permits.

“It’s been fun the last couple years; I got to run some K&N races here and there, in Denver and Montana,” Waltrip said moments before the Sprint Cup race at Phoenix International Raceway. “So I don’t have it worked out 100% or sure yet, but I’d like to run it. It’d be fun.”
