K&N West Star Kraus Files ‘Salute the Troops 100’ Entry for Jefferson This Saturday

Jefferson, WI- He was recently named as one of the NASCAR Next Class of 2018 and now Stratford, Wisconsin’s Derek Kraus is returning to his home state to compete in this Saturday’s ‘Salute the Troops 100’ at Jefferson Speedway May 26. Kraus captured the 2017 Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West in which he has two victories, both coming at the newly constructed Kern County Raceway Park just outside Bakersfield, CA, including a thriller this March where he bested former NASCAR Cup Champion Kevin Harvick for the victory.

Kraus became the youngest winner in ARCA Midwest Tour history in 2016 when he bested a tough field of Super Late Models at Dells Raceway Park at 15 years and 3 days old. Now racing for Bill McAnally Racing in the famed #16 NAPA Auto Parts Toyota, Kraus will pilot his family owned #9 Super Late Model Saturday night at ‘Wisconsin’s Action Track’, Jefferson Speedway.

The Super Late Models of the ARCA Midwest Tour will be joined by the Midwest Compact Series and the Hobby Stocks. Qualifying begins at 5pm with an autograph session to follow in the grandstands, the first race begins at 7pm. See Champions and Challengers from 6 states battle for 100 laps of feature racing plus preliminary events. Adult general admission tickets are $20, Students (12-15) are $10, Children (8-11) $5 with kids ages 7 and under admitted Free. All active and retired military members will receive a $5 discount off their race admission as well as a $5 concession voucher for use at the Jefferson Speedway concession stands.
