ARCA Midwest Tour 2015 Class of Touring Stars is Complete
by Kari Shear-Carlson / Apr 8, 2015 – Skylar Holzhausen has always been a clutch competitor in the ARCA Midwest Tour presented by Scag Power Equipment. He was a key Touring Star from 2011 through 2013, and while he only ran a few races with the Tour in 2014, he will join the official 2015 Class of Touring Stars this season. Skylar was the 2011 Midwest Tour Rookie of the Year. In that same year, he won the biggest event of the season at Elko Speedway, taking home a $10,000 paycheck. In 2013, Holzhausen captured his second ARCAMT win at Marshfield Motor Speedway. Chances are he will return even stronger in 2015.
Matt Kocourek will be joining the ARCA Midwest Tour presented by Scag Power Equipment in 2015 as a Touring Star. Kocourek’s racing history is a little different than most of his motorsports competitors. After beginning his racing career on motocross bikes, Kocourek moved from land to water, racing jet skis before he joined the short track racing world. In the late 1990’s, Kocourek raced a Legends car and in 2000 he bought a used late model and never looked back. Kocourek claimed the 2002 Lake Geneva Raceway Championship and won the Fall Classic in 2005. Since that time Kocourek has been competing in the ARCA Midwest Tour, and various events all over the Midwest. He has high hopes for his 2015 season and one of those is an ARCA Midwest Tour Championship.
The Touring Star Program for the ARCA Midwest Tour presented by Scag Power Equipment has been in place since the inception of the series. The program includes the top drivers competing in the ARCA Midwest Tour and some of the best drivers in the country. Past champions, consistent challengers, and up and coming drivers looking to break into the next stage of their racing career, will all be competing against one another for a $30,000 point fund. With the level of competition in this year’s class of Touring Stars, there is no doubt 2015 will be one of the best seasons yet.
All of the ARCA Midwest Touring Stars and Cars will make their 2015 debut on Sunday, May 3rd at Madison International Speedway for the Joe Shear Classic. For complete event details and to buy tickets, be sure to go to arcamidwesttour.com/schedule
