Oregon, WI- Two weeks ago, Jacob Goede went nose to nose with Steve Carlson, Ty Majeski and Nick Panitzke in a wild finish at LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway. This Sunday May 5, the five time and defending Elko Speedway Champion will set his sights on winning Madison International Speedway’s Joe Shear Classic 200. Goede was originally planning to compete, but a few setbacks in the shop forced him to withdraw his entry. This afternoon, that all changed as Goede and his crew made the decision to pull an all-nighter to get his mount ready to go.
Goede has won a number of big races in his career, including the 2007 ASA Late Model Series event at Bristol Motor Speedway and the Vintage World Championship Snowmobile event in Eagle River, now the NASCAR Minnesota State Champion will be gunning for the one of a kind Joe Shear Classic Trophy manufactured by Wehr’s Machine.
The Stars and Cars of the ARCA Midwest Tour will first hit the high banks of ‘Wisconsin’s Fastest Half Mile’ on Saturday from 12-5pm for an afternoon practice session. Sunday’s racing action will also include the Midwest Truck Series, Mid-American Stock Car Series and Upper Midwest Vintage Series. Spectator gates open at 11:30, Time Trials are set for 12:45pm with the first race at 2pm. The fastest 16 Midwest Tour qualifiers will be signing autographs prior to racing under the Turn 4 Party Pavilion. Adult general admission tickets are $25, Whelen Heroes/Seniors and Students (12-17) are $22, Kids ages 6-11 are $10 with ages 5 and under admitted free. Get up to two adult admissions and up to four admissions for ages 17 and under for $60 with the MIS Family Pass.
