Eilen Takes to the High Banks of Daytona

(December 5, 2012) – 2012 Midwest Tour Champion Jonathan Eilen is scheduled to attend the Road to Daytona ARCA Racing Series test at Daytona International Speedway on December 14th-16th. Eilen will be one of four drivers participating in the closed session, including the Champion of the ARCA Gold Cup Series and the Champion and Rookie of the Year from the ARCA CRA Super Series.

The test session is designed to give competitors from nearly all divisions of ARCA competition the opportunity to take part in the preparations for the ARCA Racing Series’ 50th event at Daytona International Speedway, an annual tradition dating back to 1964.

Two-time ARCA Daytona race winner and 1995 ARCA Racing Series Champion Andy Hillenburg will be on hand to help each individual driver during the test session. The vast knowledge and experience that Hillenburg brings to the test will certainly be a benefit to the drivers. The cars used for the test will also be provided by Andy Hillenburg’s Fast Track High Performance Driving School.

“The opportunity presented to us and to our champion is an amazing gesture from the ARCA Racing Series. It is our goal to work with the ARCA to find new paths for our stars and the upcoming generations in racing. Jonathan will have an amazing experience to hit the high banks of Daytona and this could open doors for him in the future,” Commented Series President Tim Olson. “We are excited about the benefits that our relationship with ARCA offers to our competitors and we hope that all of our competitors will look ahead and see a strong future in the ARCA Midwest Tour.

Testing will take place at Daytona International Speedway from 9:00-12:00 and 1:00-5:00ET on December 14th-16th.

Founded by John and Mildred Marcum in 1953 in Toledo, Ohio, the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) is recognized among the leading sanctioning bodies in the country. Closing in on completing its sixth decade after hundreds of thousands of miles of racing, ARCA administers over 100 race events each season in four professional touring series and local weekly events.
