Wausau, WI- 2010 State Park Speedway Champion Chris Weinkauf will make his first ARCA Midwest Tour appearance of 2021 this Saturday night July 24, 2021 during the Auto Select Larry Detjens Memorial 125 at State Park Speedway. Weinkauf is in search of his record fourth Detjens triumph.
Having last won the race that pays tribute to the Short Track Racing Standout in 2011, Weinkauf will be joined by another three-time winner Mark Mackesy at the quarter-mile paved oval as both drivers have their sights set on a fourth win in the Central Wisconsin marquee event. The pair each have one ARCA Midwest Tour feature win, Mackesy’s coming at State Park in 2011 and Weinkauf’s coming at Illinois’ Grundy County Speedway in 2014.
The ‘Stars and Cars’ of the ARCA Midwest Tour will be joined Saturday night by the Bandoleros, Mini-Stocks, Mini-Mods and Pure Stocks. Pit gates open at 11am, Practice gets underway at 2pm, Spectator Gates open at 3:30pm with qualifying at 4:30pm and racing at 6pm.
