With the opportunity to pick up a $1,000 bonus, many champion drivers are hoping to end Ty Majeski’s streak in the Wayne Carter Classic this Saturday night at Grundy County Speedway in Morris, Illinois.
Some of these drivers include past winners of the Wayne Carter Classic, ARCA Midwest Tour presented by SCAG champions and Chicagoland area champions.
Three-time Wayne Carter Classic winner Eddie Hoffman will definitely be one to watch on Saturday night. Hoffman is also a four-time Grundy County Speedway track champion. Hoffman has won this event twice (2012, 15) since the Midwest Tour resumed the Wayne Carter Classic in 2011.
If there is one driver who is eager to stop Majeski’s streak, it is two-time ARCA Midwest Tour champion Dan Fredrickson. During Majeski’s five race win streak, he surpassed Fredrickson on the all-time win list in the Tour and doesn’t want to let Majeski create a big gap between the two of them. Fredrickson is the current point leader in the Madison International Speedway Triple Crown Series.
Andrew Morrissey is the 2011 ARCA Midwest Tour champion and is, so far, the only other driver to win an ARCA Midwest Tour event this season. Morrissey always races Majeski hard and is not afraid to go toe-to-toe with him as he demonstrated in a fall race at Dells Raceway Park last season.
Jonathan Eilen is the 2012 ARCA Midwest Tour champion and also is the 2013 winner of the Wayne Carter Classic. In fact, Eilen’s last Tour win was at this event and he not only would like to end that streak but wouldn’t mind a $1,000 bonus to take back to Minnesota.
A full field of talented drivers is pre-registered for this Saturday night hoping not only to enter their name into the prestigious list of winners of the Wayne Carter Classic, but also stop Ty Majeski’s five race win streak in the ARCA Midwest Tour and collect a $1,000 bonus.
Will Majeski win his sixth in a row or will we see our third different winner this Saturday night?
Spectator gates will open at 3pm with qualifying at 5pm and racing will get underway at 7pm. The Mid-American Stock Car Series and Illini Midgets will also be in action this Saturday night.
