Daytona Beach, FL- Following an impressive 2020 season in which he recorded a career high fourteen feature victories and two track Championships, Gleason, Wisconsin’s Justin Mondeik will take part in the ARCA Menards Series Test at Daytona International Speedway next weekend, Friday and Saturday January 15-16, 2021. Each season a top ARCA Midwest Tour Super Late Model ‘Touring Star’ partakes in the Road to Daytona, with Mondeik being set to take his first ever laps around the 2.5 mile ‘World Center of Racing’ based on the strength of his third place Championship points effort.
Mondeik scored his first career ARCA Midwest Tour feature victory during last July’s Larry Detjens Memorial at State Park Speedway. All told, the 24 year old recorded five feature triumphs at the Wausau, WI quarter mile on his way to the 2020 State Park Speedway track Championship. Extending his Central Wisconsin success, he notched four feature wins in route to the Golden Sands Speedway Championship honors. An additional five wins in five starts at Michigan’s Norway Speedway, as well as setting the fastest lap during ARCA Midwest Tour qualifying for last September’s $10,000 To Win Joe Shear Classic at Dells Raceway Park were all season highlights.
In addition to the Road to Daytona Test in the Andy Hillenburg prepared ARCA Menards Series entry, Mondeik and his family operation will make their second consecutive appearance at New Smyrna Speedway (FL) during Speedweeks this February for the World Series of Asphalt. In seven 2020 WS events, Mondeik posted seven top ten efforts including a pair of sixth place finishes and was fifth in the final point standings. He will look to improve upon those solid performances in his Aqua Finance, Agra Industries, IAC, Schaeffer’s Oil, A & A Lock Service Ford next month.
