Oregon, WI- Last week the ARCA Midwest Tour announced a tire bonus program which offered four bonus Hoosier Tires to the first forty paid entries for the upcoming Sunday May 5 Joe Shear Classic 200 at Madison International Speedway. Chicagoland Champion Ricky Baker asked if he could change his program around in order to keep his coolers stocked for the 2019 race season.

Madison International Speedway is known for selling giant 25 ounce Busch Light cans each summer, and Baker wants to cash in on those instead of the bonus tires. “I have a leftover set of tires from last year sitting in the shop and I’ve been known to have a pretty thirsty team when the races are over so I figured I’d ask.” Stated Baker, a two-time ARCA Midwest Tour Feature Winner. “I usually steal a couple from Chris Weinkauf when we run out, but I had Brad ‘JJ’ Mueller say he’d come help with the pit stops so I figured we could use the extra beer.”

Baker and the rest of the ARCA Midwest Tour ‘Stars and Cars’ will see on-track action begin with an optional practice session on Saturday May 4 from noon until 4 for ARCA Midwest Tour, Midwest Truck, Mid-American Stock Car and Upper Midwest Vintage Series teams. An open practice for all divisions is scheduled at MIS on Saturday April 27 as well. Sunday morning May 5, the high banks will come to life at 11:30am with a final round of practice, followed by qualifying at 12:45pm with racing action slated to get underway at 2pm with a full program of preliminary events and features.

Madison International Speedway is located between Oregon and Stoughton, WI at 1122 Sunrise Road. For additional information, please visit www.misracing.com.
