Sept 30, 2014 – Oktoberfest is a place where drivers and fans reunite sometimes after having gone their own way for a few races and sometimes for entire racing seasons. If a driver could pick one Midwest Tour event to race out of the entire season, chances are pretty good that it would be Oktoberfest. This year’s entry list proves just that.
Thirty super late models are entered for this weekend’s ARCA Midwest Tour presented by Scag Power Equipment Oktoberfest 200 at LaCrosse Speedway for the 45th Annual Oktoberfest Race Weekend. Along with Midwest Touring Stars including, last year’s event winner, Nathan Haseleu, and ROY contender and current point leader, Ty Majeski, the field will be filled with competition from all over the upper Midwest.
Dan Fredrickson will be returning to Midwest Tour competition and try to add a fourth Oktoberfest win to his resume’. Griffin McGrath, former Touring Star out of Cedar Rapids, IA, will also make his annual visit to the 5/8th’s mile oval. Of course it wouldn’t be Oktoberfest if there wasn’t a Sauter or two in the field. This year four Sauters will be part of the competition. If history repeats itself, Johnny and Travis will definitely do whatever it takes to win. Along with the two of them, Jim Jr, and Tim Sauter will take part in this year’s 200 lap event. Past Midwest Touring Stars, Tim Schendel and Nick Panitzke will also be returning for the final event of the season, and not to be counted out is the only female currently entered in the field, Natalie Decker.
With an entry list like this the Oktoberfest 200 is definitely a can’t miss event. ARCA Midwest Tour action begins on Saturday afternoon with qualifying for all divisions starting at 2:05pm. Racing begins at 5:00pm on Saturday evening. After an 11:00am autograph session on the front stretch Sunday morning, racing begins at 12:00pm Sunday afternoon with the Oktoberfest 200 capping off the four-day weekend of racing.
