A $1,000 reward will await any Super Late Model driver that can break the current winning streak that Ty Majeski is on in ARCA Midwest Tour presented by SCAG Power Equipment competition. Tour Owner/Promoter Gregg McKarns has placed a $1,000 bounty for anyone that can beat Ty Majeski at the Wayne Carter Classic on Saturday, July 15th at Grundy County Speedway in Morris, Illinois. Likewise, if Majeski is successful in his pursuit of an unprecedented sixth tour win in a row, he will claim the bounty.
“I keep an eye on what fans say on social media and after Ty won his fifth ARCA Midwest Tour event in a row last Saturday night at Rockford Speedway, many started talking about when my dad (John McKarns) would put a bounty on Trickle, Joe Shear or any driver on a hot streak,” Gregg McKarns said. “So, I thought, you know, we are going back to the track where the first ever ARTGO race took place, why not have a bounty on our three-time defending champion and winner of our last five races.”
McKarns noted that the only way the bounty would be paid off to the driver that wins the Wayne Carter Classic, is if Majeski is on the lead lap at the end of 100-lap race, part of a Saturday Night Special event.
“We want Ty to be beaten fair and square,” McKarns explained. “The driver that beats him and gets the $1,000 bonus will earn it and can say they ended his streak with no questions.” Majeski also happens to be the defending race winner, making a daring late race pass to claim the win in last year’s Wayne Carter Classic.
Early Bounty Hunters include last Friday night’s Grundy feature winner and 2016 ARCA Midwest Tour point runner-up Paul Shafer, Jr, a determined Austin Nason whom Majeski stole the win away from at Rockford last Saturday night, defending Grundy Champion Anthony Danta, Joe Shear Classic winner and former ARCA Midwest Champ Andrew Morrissey, two time Grundy Champion Ricky Baker and multi-time Chicagoland Champion Eddie Hoffman.
The Wayne Carter Classic 100 Presented by Rod Baker Ford and Illinois Truck & Equipment will take place on Saturday, July 15th at Grundy County Speedway in Morris, Illinois. Qualifying gets underway at 5pm with racing at 7pm. The Mid-American Stock Car Series and Illini Midgets will also be in action.
